As of late last year, there’s new recommendations, for Strep pneumonia prevention in people over 65.
We now no longer recommend getting Prevnar 13, routinely for seniors, although there are some exceptions. Everybody over 65 still gets Pneumovax 23. It looks like successfully vaccinating young people, has helped the older population, which is great to see. This may be a lesson when we get a new Covid-19 vaccine.
